Keep making art with us! COVID-19 Programming Updates
Dear Path with Art family,
Art has always been a powerful tool in times of crisis – a means of resilience, a way to join together, a salve for our pain. In this unprecedented time of social distancing and isolation, we hope to continue to use the arts to help our community stay connected, relieve stress and anxiety, and tune in creatively, because well-being is about much more than physical health.
For the health and safety of the community, for now, Path with Art classes have transitioned to distance learning opportunities, and our staff is working from home until further notice. We are still checking voicemail and email regularly. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our amazing program team at (206) 601-7112, or email becca@pathwithart.org.
We are continuing to explore additional distance learning opportunities (see this distance learning lesson plan from Teaching Artist Cathe Gill’s Watercolor Class, and a student painting that came out of it!), and hope to pilot both online and mailed alternatives to keep students engaged, participating in the arts, and creating in community. In the meantime, we have shared a list of community resources, including many virtual opportunities for arts and cultural engagement.
We care about you. You are part of our family. We are still here to support you. We want you to be healthy and safe – mentally, emotionally, and physically. We are excited for when we can be together again. But for now, we are working on ways we can continue to make art together from a distance, and we will continue to keep you all informed as our next steps take shape.
In the wise words of writer Neil Gaiman, “The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before.” We are here to help you brighten your world during this dark time.
Stay connected with us! We want to hear from you!
With hope,
Ghaddra González Castillo
