artREMEDY

With 1 in 5 people in the US suffering from untreated mental health challenges, the need for trauma-informed arts practice is greater than ever. Art presents a unique and proven remedy to help address our current mental health crises.

We're excited to announce a new partnership with the Washington State Arts Commission to develop artREMEDY, a trauma-informed arts training program, as a step in the direction of sharing our knowledge and model to help those who need this support the most, and create a world where the power of art is available to all.

The development of artREMEDY, which draws inspiration from Path with Art's distinctive model, aims to provide transformative arts engagement strategies for educators, healthcare professionals, and arts organizations. The program will feature two immersive modules that will explore the widespread impact of trauma in our society, the principles of trauma awareness in the arts, and the benefits of a healing-centered approach.

The trainings will be tailored for practitioners (such as art teachers, educational organizations, frontline workers, and social workers) and arts + cultural spaces (such as museums, theaters, performance spaces, and art rooms). Participants will engage in reflective practice, dynamic discussions, and artistic exercises, all reflecting the PwA model of fostering healing through creativity & community.
