Art Kits are creative projects designed by professional Teaching Artists that are mailed or distributed to participants. Path with Art makes 800 Art Kits annually. Each kit includes high-quality materials needed to complete a project, as well as a step-by-step guidebook with images to follow along and ideas for inspiration. MAking mandalas BY ASHA SINGH (2024)
Mandala means ‘circle’ in Hinduism & Buddhism. A mandala design is made up of concentric circles, having each layer filled with beautiful patterns. Drawing mandalas is super fun and can be a meditative experience. This can also help relax the mind and improve your concentration. In this beginner’s art kit, you will find all the resources and steps to create a mandala design by yourself. We will practice some common patterns first and then dive into drawing the mandala on the main sheet. You can add more details to your mandala artwork or fill in colors of your choice.

Dolls of Gratitude ART KIT by Ixtli White Hawk (collaboration with the Frye Art Museum, 2024)
Different cultures use dolls for many reasons, from objects of play and delight, to totems holding the weight and emotions of the maker. This project will help you create a doll from everyday materials such as fabric scraps, beads, and leather cord to reflect your community, yourself, gratitude, diversity, and creativity. In this workshop, we will watch an instructional video made by the artist Ixtli White Hawk to inspire our own dolls. You can decorate your doll anyway you like and we invite you to create it with the spirit of gratitude. Dolls of Gratitude: A Community Art Collaboration is on display at the Frye Art Museum through December 2024.

Creature Creation ART KIT by Kate Guild
Create your own soft, silly creatures in this kit. Using scrap pieces of fabric swatches, you will design and make your own unique stuffed creature. A couple of body patterns are included to choose from (or make your own). You can either secure with fabric glue (no sewing skills needed) or hand sew your creature. You can add buttons, clothes, hair, ears, and other items to the outside to give personality for this little keepsake. Make them silly, scary, cute, or super serious! Who they are is completely up to you!
Tunnel book art kit by rachael Androski
A tunnel book is a free standing 3D diorama that creates the illusion of depth and perspective by using a series of cut-out panels that are placed one behind the other, and held together by folded paper at the sides like an accordion. Tunnel books date all the way back to the mid-18 century when they were originally called, “peep shows.” The concept was inspired by the theatrical stage.
Patterned Animal Painting ART KIT by Donna Baker
Many of us find meaning and connection to the animal world––identifying characteristics of animals that inspire us, like the memory of an elephant, the gracefulness of a bird, or the wild speed of a cheetah. In this art kit, Native American artist Donna Baker will share with you her connection to Spirit Totems. Her intention is to take in the knowledge and ideas she has absorbed from these cultured artisans to create her own fellowship of nature and learned experiences. Some Indigenous people(s) of the world are deeply rooted in folklore, culture, and mysteries surrounding their ancestral Totems and in this art kit you will choose an animal that you identify with and create your own expression on panel wood. You can affix your animal pattern (already printed with a design) if you choose to do so OR you may trace the animal pattern onto the panel wood and make your own design. This project includes panel board, acrylic paint, paint brushes, pencil, and tacky glue along with a step-by-step guidebook for you to complete your animal painting.
Scrape Painting ART Kit by Morgan Laird
Create your own abstract wall art! This D.I.Y. set includes all the tools you will need to explore the whimsical art of scrape painting. Squeeze a few drops of paint onto your canvas and use the paint scraper tool to experiment with your colorful creation! Play around with shapes, unique lines, waves and more! Once the paint dries, finish off your project with a pop of gold foil.

Relief Printing Art Kit by Shannon Cleere
Relief printmaking from home is fun and easy! This kit provides everything you need to make small, basic relief prints: rubber block, carving tools, transfer paper, water-based ink, and paper. One carved block can make multiple prints: create your own stationery, postcards, or decorative paper! Relief printmaking is an ideal introduction to the art form: easy to do at home as it is not very technical, nor does it require special equipment like a printing press. Explore one of the earliest forms of printed communication right from the comfort of your own home!

Punchneedling art kit by zenebech demissie
Make your own unique wall decor, coaster, or gift using this incredible needling technique! Very similar to embroidery but with much thicker yarn, you can relax into the rhythmic motions of punch needling. Either using the designs supplied to you or drawing your own image on the fabric supplied you can create your own miniature piece of textile art.

In this art kit you will create flowers out of common materials that will last forever. Zine-Making Art Kit by Becky Johnston
Storytelling is a radical act! Zines (“zeens”) are a powerful way to explore and expand your creative vision and give voice to your work. This kit provides the materials, instructions, and inspiration to make and distribute simple artist books. An online video tutorial by Teaching Artist Becky Johnston will be available to all of those who receive the art kit.
Personal Sketchbook Journal Art Kit by Therese Buchmiller
Sketch journals are essential tools for visual artists. A sketch journal provides a private place for reflection, and a place to explore and experiment with ideas. In this kit you’ll find what you need to construct your own sketch journal using basic bookbinding techniques and materials following a step-by-step guide. Once assembled, you can use included exercises and resources to start developing a sketch journaling practice, or continue on the journey you’ve already begun. The exercises in this kit will guide you through the process of gathering source material and finding inspiration. An online resource page available to all who receive a kit will also have a video demonstration by Therese to enhance the written guide.

This project kit contains step by step instructions and creative ideas for you to make your own pinch pots, coasters, or keychain charms with air dry clay. There are so many possibilities to explore with air dry clay--it holds impressions from fabric, flowers, or leaves for texture, you can roll it flat or mold it to hold a shape. MIXED MEDIA Scrapbook JOURNAL by Jade Willis

Four seasons of a tree art kit by marni sheppard
In this art kit, we will explore the metamorphosis of a deciduous tree through nature's seasons. Trees are very symbolic of life and growth--though they appear dormant in the winter they are busy inside preparing for spring and summer. In the fall, the leaves are a riot of color before they are shed. Using acrylic paint, paintbrushes, and a canvas, you will paint your own tree in four segments to represent each season. An online video tutorial by Teaching Artist Marni Sheppard will be available to all of those who receive the art kit to enhance the guidebook for those that want to dive in deeper into this subject.
