WELCOME TO PATH WITH ART: Journaling FOR PLAY AND EXPLORATION KIT
“The Sketchbook Project: World Tour” by Steven Peterman and Sara Elands Peterman, 2015
MATERIALS MAILED TO PARTICIPANTS
This art kit has a variety of materials to get you started on an ongoing art journal. An art journal is a place to play, dream, explore, and create! It’s the same as a written journal, except that it incorporates colors, images, patterns, and other materials. Some art journals have a lot of writing, while others are purely filled with images. Art journaling is about the process of art making, and not the product. There are no rules other than to make art! Mixed media art journaling typically includes words, imagery & color. Materials used in art journaling can include paint, pens, printed text, written words, found papers, magazine clippings, and more. Feel free to tape in photographs or ticket stubs or index card art or diagrams of your dreams! A step-by-step guide with prompts will encourage your journaling to become part of your regular artistic practice.
