Our Open Studios and Community Jam Sessions are vibrant, drop-in spaces designed for connection, creative agency, and informal making—no prior registration or long-term commitment is necessary. Whether in-person or online, these “come as you are” spaces offer a low-barrier opportunity to experiment with new ideas, finish projects outside of class, and strengthen the bonds of our creative community.
At our Live Open Studio, you are invited to use the artHOME studios and theater, where we provide a full array of instruments and visual art supplies, including guitars, drums, keyboards, sewing machines, and painting materials.
For those joining us from home, our Virtual Open Studio offers a supportive digital environment where you can choose between a “quiet room” for focused work or a “talking room” for conversation, ending with an optional community share-out.
In alignment with our trauma-informed and inclusive values, we have a monthly LGBTQIA+ Open Studio—an affirming space specifically designed to uplift queer artists and writers, where allies are also warmly welcomed.
For the musicians in our community, our Community Jam Sessions provide a three-hour, unrehearsed space for Participant Artists and volunteers to play together. Whether you bring your own instrument, use one of ours (including microphones, synthesizers, and bass guitars), or simply wish to join as an audience member to cheer others on, these sessions embody the power of art as a remedy for social connection.
