Community Cohorts

Path with Art provides cohort-specific programming, first piloted in 2019 for Veterans and Latinos, to support individuals who would benefit from being connected with others with similar lived experiences. We are currently expanding this successful program to reach additional groups that would benefit from trauma-informed, peer-specific engagement. These cohorts and initiatives provide a supportive creative community and a safe space for recovery, exploration, and healing.

Veteran Cohort

We launched the Veterans Cohort in 2019, growing from 30 to over 500 annually. Central to the success of this initiative is the guidance of our Veteran Steering committee and the unique perspectives of our growing number of Veteran Ambassadors. Our Veteran community is very important to PwA, we are inspired by their resilience and courage daily and feel honored to work with individuals who have served our country.

This initiative was made to organize creative activities for our Latino community. Path with Art is committed to expanding access through culturally and linguistically responsive programming developed in partnership with trusted community organizations like Casa Latina, Entre Hermanos, and El Centro de la Raza. In 2025, we offered six Spanish-language workshops, including a special series in Hispanic Heritage month, and distributed translated Art Kits, reducing language barriers and creating more welcoming entry points for Spanish-speaking participants.

Survivors of Gender-Based Violence

Path with Art has been partnering with gender-based, sexual exploitation, and domestic violence-specific service organizations for over ten years, including Jubilee Women’s Center, New Beginnings, Sophia Way, and Real Escape from the Sex Trade (REST) in our regular programming. We recognize that survivors of Gender-Based and Domestic Violence thrive in a supportive community where a safe space encourages the rebuilding of a sense of self. This growing initiative has been supported by an advisory board since 2023 and was created to foster personal expression and choice-centered arts engagement.

Reintegration from
Incarceration

Individuals facing reintegration from incarceration face many challenges in our society today, including isolation, stigmatization, and the need to develop skills and develop self efficacy. Path with Art has been working closely with an advisory board including The WA Innocence Project, YWCA and other organizations since 2023 to establish creative opportunities that foster confidence, belonging, and connection specifically for formerly incarcerated individuals and families.
